Has anyone tried Rooster recently? The cam is showing a fair amount of dry land and it's blowing.

Yes! Beach is back at the east end as of today...

Pretty uncrowded - just 3 of us this afternoon

Come out 'n play...

The key is to stay on top of the water and/or wait for March when the water warms up to 40 degrees.

Iwantofly,

Good ? YES the water is very very very cold ONLY if you touch it...

I do see guys in wetsuits of unknown thickness out there in winter

For me it's ALL ABOUT THE DRYSUIT. Proper gear is a personal choice and each
has some minor +/-'s but if you want to be cozy warm and safe in winter kiting mode on the river (not same for ocean waves = bad) then IMHO there is only one solution...

Lots of other posts on this topic - short version = OR Ignites with integrated socks, 5mm booties with soles thinned, 3mm Mystic gloves, ProMo Beanie, Brimmed hat and you are well on your way to off-season sessions.

Be Safe - Not Sorry

Mc
