Not sure why we would care. Although, after browsing thru your site, I'm not sure why any of you care either. The only good thing about this is all of you only show up at the coast when it's windy and 2 feet.

Here is another point of view:

Those guys probably forgot why they even started surfing in the first place... because its fun. duh. Kiting is just another way to have fun. One that doesn't mean bobbing around for hours waiting for the right set and fighting with 10 other guys over it.

Oh well, no use in trying to convince people who it isn't obvious to. If you can't watch it for 30 seconds and figure it out, then you'll never be a kiteboarder. Stick to what you know and never try anything new, sounds like a great way to live life.

Have fun being disgruntled. Thumb's Up

Read the threads on the second link. Kudos to the surf community. He's way too wordy but LF goes on a surfing forum to promote kiting and the surfers are quite civil (though not sold on it). If a surfer posted similar evangelism on this site, the verbal abuse would require preparation H.

The worst flame I saw was that Mary Poppins was a kiter. Ouchy!

What's with all these people who want to label themselves?? It's not like if you start to kite you are obliged to quit surfing or windsurfing. If it's perfect 6' glass (those days do exist if you are very patient) then grab a surfboard. Blowing 30 then i'm not going to bother trying to figure out how to water start with my kite gear when i could have a great time with my windsurf gear. Yeah windsurfings a pain to learn but surfing isn't, just takes lots and lots of water time to become any good. In my opinion nothing teachs you about the ocean like surfing.
Hey and talking of image what's with the board shorts over wetsuits? Wink

Shorts over the wetsuit was something I always wondered about?
I thought it was so kooky. I said I would never do it.
Then I tried it. In addition I put a rash guard with some polypro over my chest.
The combination actually adds some seriously legitimate conservation of heat.
When I am done riding I take them off and I notice a considerable difference. Especially when the wind hits the bare rubber. The clothing is mainly a barrier from the wind.

In addition, the harness pulls up on your waist so much that it pulls the wetsuit up tight around your groin. It is a little disrespectful to be walking around with your balls bulging out. LOL

I feel like naked without the shorts and shirt now.

All of you who are wearing your shorts over your wetsuits are kooks. It does explain a lot. Now when that "gaper" with his floral print board shorts over his suit paddles into the lineup and starts making an a$$ out of himself, I'll know why. He is a wind/kite boarder who turned west on I-84 instead of East.

Frontside,
No one would wear shorts over their suit if they were surfing. Unless you surf in 25 mph wind. The shorts and shirt cut the wind chill effect.
You obviously didn't read.
In reality it doesn't matter at all unless you want a little more warmth and are not into showing your balls to all the boys.

keep on dangling your ballerina self and just enjoy.

Remember when board shorts were invented. I do. And people thought they were so kooky. Now people wear them when they walk around portland.

What about girls in wetsuits (assuming it's too cold for a bikini) - cameltoe or boardshorts? Laughing
