Does anyone know how to tell if Sauvies will be good. Or how to tell what it might be doing. I know people use the wind in Scappoose to determine what it might be doing. What does the wind speed have to be in Scapoose to be good at sauvies? What other things should I look for? Thanks

Shit it has been good almost everyday for 2 weeks, just go! Wink

But seriously, I look at a lot of different links, but the general rule of thumb is 10mph or more at Scappoose means its probably do-able.

This is a very good page:

http://nwwind.net/wind.php?region=8 (note that wind speed is in knots)

This is the best forecast tool I have found for predicting it:

http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi?model=eta&Submit=Change+Source&state=OR&sta=KSPB

Just keep going and keeping track of what you saw on the sensors and forecast before you left to give you an idea of how accurate things are.

thanks, I guess even if I get skunked, Sauvies is close enough that I haven't wasted the whole day. I hate driving all the way out to Hood River just to pump up my kite and sit on the beach.
