I have a Stringy foil with a 90 cm welded aluminum mast and wondered what options I have for a shorter mast? Can I use a Slingshot mast (for example ) on this setup? See pics. I'm a foil newb so was thinking a shorter mast might help the learning curve.

He'll make a fuselage that fits Moses, Cedrus, More. Can I say your setup looks stone age? Smile

That setup does look a bit primitive but certainly functional and very solid. I wouldn't waste your time/money on a shorter mast as you will also need a new mast plate and fuselage which will be $$ even if not carbon. Instead spend your money on a stringy surf wing which will be much easier to learn on and better in the long run as well. With the newer surf wings I don't think people spend much time learning on the shorter masts anymore anyway.

That rig totally rocks.

Take a foil lesson with Joe the Kiter. Worth it!

hey that's a gen 1 mast setup!
We've come along ways in our foil evolution since then. unfortunately no other fuselage will bolt right onto that one. if you need a shorter mast, I have that same setup in a 24 inch mast you can have/borrow. I keep it around for teaching but have a couple of setups so its all yours if you want.
let me know where to meet up.
