What would you recommend to sew-up a few inches of leading edge on a 06 Waroo - fishing mono, dental floss, ? Folks at New Wind said they have had good luck making these repairs, making sure to use the existing holes and finish it with a little super glue - making sure the bladder is out of the way. |

heavy fish line and a leather needle? That would be my guess.
Good luck |

I use a polyester thread on my lines. Should work on the kite too. Doesn't rot, threads/ties easy, and is pretty strong. Nylon is another option, but is more like fishing line (harder to tie off, etc.).
P.S. - Make absolutely sure you're all done sewing before you super glue, 'cause it's a bitch to punch through after. Granted you're working with thinner material than line sleeves, it still won't be fun. I snapped like 3 needles (on a machine) doing 4 lines. |

Dude, just take it to Airtime www.airtimekite.com/home.html
They do very professional work and stand behind all of thier work.
If you get on your hands and knees and slip them some extra green, Im sure they can rush the job. |

contrary to other....um....industries. re-using the same hole ain't a bad thing. the less fabric punches you can make the better.
use Vectran thread. it's the strongest out there, aside from kevlar. but that stuff will just rip through the fabric before it breaks a thread. |

dental floss was my ticket. works and looks great. i do keep an eye on it for more problems but dental floss is a cheap repair when you get rained out and all there is to do is wait for the next windy day. |

I don't know if you're close to HR
but I got a huge spool of thread
that is used for making repairs.
I'm happy to give you 20 feet.
I would not use super glue since
it stiffens anything that you put
it on and that can cause cracking
right at the boundary.
Just replace the missing stitches.
You don't want to reinforce the
area too much or it will fail again
just beyond it. |

drag your browser out plenty wide,
now pull it ever narrower and drop it.
pretty soon part of the line disappears,
80 characters appears to chop it.
sometimes people post a big picture,
<CR> keeps my lines from chasing it.
I want you to easily read my posts,
unless I feel like erasing it. |
