A couple fun days, and a few pics. Decent sess. at Lyle today, excluding slicing my ankle open (to the bone), trying to climb down the rocks, and having to get 7 stitches once I got back into town... Couple weeks off the water is well worth not getting eaten by those West Nile carrying Mosquitos! Wink

Yea, luckily I was pretty dry at the time, and it was on those "cleaner" rocks up near the tracks. On antibiotics for a week too!

Only took a pic of it on my phone, and for some reason it isn't syncing up right now via Bluetooth, so once I get back down to school and get my cable, I'll load it up!!! Very Happy

Did anyone else notice the trick that guy was doing at Lyle on Sunday (i think it was "Chinese guy" above) where he jumped and rotated, but then rotated back the other way before landing? What's that called??

You're just talking about the boost Jeff always does, right? Jumping high with a stylish, "Tail/Tindy" grab, reversed 180 degrees, then landing normal? If so, I don't think there's any special name for it..? Or are you talking about that new one him and Amery are pulling? Hoochie Glide, then grabbing the bar (with your grab hand) and tossing a late flat-3?

This?

Yeah, that's the jump i'm talking about (in the photo you posted--thanks!). I don't see how you could get facing the other way like in that photo and still be able to bring it back to regular for the landing. What's the technique on this? Jeff (or anyone else) can you tell us the secret?? Smile Thanks.

Oh.. I just had a thought.. I guess you could actually use the fact that the kite lines are not moving that much during the jump, you could use your arm to "pull" against the strings (by way of the bar) with your front hand to get the body/legs to rotate a bit; then "push" back against the strings to rotate back?? Would that work?

thats totaly it i find having a solid straight back pop off the water (front leg extended) helps me alot to not rotate forward.

Are you Jeff? If so, that's an awesome looking jump, btw. So are you saying my theory about pushing and pulling against the lines is right? Can you explain a bit more about the straight back pop? Do you just mean to go into the jump with no rotation (as a normal jump) and then do the rotation "tweak" in the air, using the lines to rotate you 180 and back?
