A friend reported from Home Valley that the water won’t be going down anytime soon. “They’ve moved the cranes in place for the project but the barges to transport the new railroad span have not arrived”. That explains this late season issue this year.

Any updates as to when river levels will be returning to "normal" for this time of year?

Not to get off on an tangent but why do the railroads have so much say? If any other company wanted to change river level to suit there need I doubt the Feds would be very responsive....

Any other company does not move 20% of our total household goods. Maybe if we were not so dependent upon them it might change. Most people that are so called earth friendly still get their goods delivered by truck and rail!!

Then I assume that trucking companies which move 60% of goods could get the river level lowered.

I doubt it...

200 plus trucking companies. 2 major railroad players - strength is better with fewer players. Think how many roads you cross that have tracks in them. They own us and we don’t own them. Hmmm why can’t we cross fight club!! Railroad. Bottom line railroads work better with federal agencies like bonneville better than we do !
