I have a liquid force kite surfboard that I have been using for a few years. There are some cracks on the glass surface covering the surfbard and I believe the actual material under is intact. These probably happened in transit rather than riding.

I am looking for recommendations on how to fix this quick. I have no experience with shaping or fixing surfboards.

Here are the links to a couple photos:

Picture of top by pad looks like scuff marks from rubbing paint off plus maybe a small round partial puncture. Put a dab or epoxy on the puncture to seal it l. If it doesn’t drain through to inside, you’re done. If it does, add a little glob of putty on top.

The other picture of what looks like big scratches or cracks on the bottom is harder to say. If truly superficial scratches or cracks in some paint/clearcoat, ignore. Or fill with resin and putty, then repaint.
If it is really cracks into the fiberglass sand the area with 60 grit wet with resin and slap a patch of 6 oz fiberglass on it. Topcoat and sand, paint etc if desired.

This is a very easy fix, but you will need to pick up supplies and with no experience you are liable to make rookie errors. It is really not worth your time unless you want to learn how to repair boards in the future.

Consider taking it to Gorge Performance in Portland or a shop closer to you.

Buy some solarez. The time required to complete your repair will be less than the time it took to post here and demand instantaneous gratification from strangers:

https://www.solarez.com/product-category/water-sports/surfboard-repair-epoxy/

If you screw it up, sand it away and start over.

Thanks for the responses. I will try the Solarez epoxy resin. I would take it to the shop for serious repairs but it's not worth the time of there is a quick fix for minor stuff.

Dremel out the bad. Cut some saran wrap such that it's 2"-3" larger than repair in every dimension. Use blue painter's tape to attach plastic wrap to board. Solarex what you dremeled out. Pull wrap over epoxy and smooth out. Place in UV light for 20 min. Pull off plastic wrap.

Done

Yep. As most people mentioned Solarez works pretty good. Not too bad for a first minor repair. I am all for supporting local businesses and getting it done right but for minor stuff like this, it is a lot more time efficient for me to apply a quick fix.

Get some super thin CA glue and applicator tip at HR hobbies. Dribble it on those cracks and it will magically wick into the white spots and make them disappear (mostly). Hold the board with the rail downward so the extra CA will drip off instead of running onto the bottom. Quickly wipe any excess with a piece of wax paper. Paper towel will stick and get super hot as the glue cures in it. You can remove excess with finger nail polish remover. Or smooth it out with some fine sandpaper and coat it with a bit of clear acrylic spray. Sanding, leaving the dust in the ding and then using that as filler with the CA glue works well too. Super quick repair. Solarez is a mess. I suppose you could bring it by our warehouse and I can show you how to do it.

All the best,
Hein
