Whats the call this weekend? The Gorge looks like a go but I'd rather get some waves. I've always avoided the coast when clouds are forecast but should I change my ways? Just really want to hit the coast but don't want to kill myself driving to Pistol.

Since I rarely get to the coast I'm not sure who's wind forecast is the one to trust. George doesn't make the N Coast sound too promising, NOAA does. Central looks promising according to George, NOAA is less optimistic

Hmm... maybe I'll just head for the gorge, warm and windy is always nice

I am betting on coast. We will be driving out there this afternoon and staying the night then back tomorrow night.

Today looks like there might be some wind to harvest, but light. Saturday looks real nice though.

Hope you bet on the coast Mike, cause it was schweet 13m all day Saturday. I'd be back out there again but I got to get on a jet plane. Sad

yep, the WA coast was going off as well. Small swell but good winds, i was the only kiter out at West Port between 5 & 8pm.. It was a good time w/ a downwind support vehicle.

Yep I hit the coast, didn't seem like a good Gorge setup. I opted for Newport since the Central coast had a stronger forecast, but I guess I coulda gone anywhere on the coast Sat. I got a couple B'hamsters to bail on the Gorge, and we hooked up with some Seattle kiters at Newport. That's a nice setup with the parking so close to the water, nice grassy out of the wind rigging area, and the side-shore wind setup I've seen on the coast

Sunday we goofed, went to Astoria looking to do downwinders and to have a shorter drive home afterwards. The AM readings looked good so we skipped Manzanita. It never got going, we debated heading back down or going to Jones but the wind started to come up a bit, suckered us thinking it was going to turn on, but it just never kicked. Ended up screwing around with a surfboard then did a VERY underpowered downwinder to Shipwrecks. ARGHH...Oh well, next time I'll start at Manzanita and head to Astoria if it gets too windy
