ouch, Elvis you got told. Very Happy

I did feel bad for where our kites were at, we tried to push them back a bit. Looks like somebody has done a lot of work making a nice area there, we'll try to pitch in a bit of help next time.

OK, kites in not ideal location. no one will argue that one.

I think Elvis was just making a suggestion about rigging lines, he said it in a nice way.

If you didn't like our kites there, you could have asked us, "hey you guys mind moving your kites over there? So there is more room for others for launching and landing"

Poof, problem solved.

Instead there was the "I know what I'm doing, I've ridden here 100 times." That is attitude. No one likes that kind of attitude. And if it was said to me, I would have told the person they can go F themselves.

I do have a sense of humor...as well as the ability to tell the difference between kidding around and being meanspirited Sad

Again, wasn't trying to be a b****. I'm not sure how I could have been more gracious in declining advice...but I do kite there a lot, and prefer to launch how I usually do. Maybe I should have just said that Wink

The sandbar will be back soon and there will be plenty of space. I can't wait!

Hey, Kite Girls Rule! No one should ever be treated rudely for handing out advice, we're all in this together.

When I was first starting there was a dude who was so much better than me, riding right at me. I slowly brought my kite up higher and started edging hard to slow down so he could pass down wind when suddenly I came 2 feet off the water and floated a few yards down wind, nothing spectacular. The guy fucking screamed at me like I was trying to kill him and made me feel like a loser. In hindsight, it's debatable who was at fault, but it sure left me feeling awful the rest of the day. No one deserves to be treated that way.

I trust that Lyle is enough of an unknown place to keep the tourists away, so when you run into someone at Lyle, you have to assume they're some kind of local and you'll see them again. Knowing that, it's probably easier to treat people as friends.

This summer I'm going to be throwing post session bbq's for everyone. Hopefully we can get a large regular crew of people with good attitudes who are willing to help any and all people. Then we can all pray together... Just kidding about that last part, HAIL SATAN!

Sorry, Just had a few to many "Quadruple" gin and tonics. Appearently a shot over here in England is 1oz. Pretty weak beer too.

I wasn't on the beach when any of the supposed attitude stuff was going down, but Kristina seemed to be kicking ass on the water.

But on the topic of North kites... I've heard that's how you're supposed to depower to self land them with the 5th line. Isn't that standard procedure? Wish my Waroo had a way to reel it in like that while on the water.

Just a quick hello to everyone who was at Lyle that day. I'm Jonah (bright orange board in the pix) and my gf Lauri was there; we were switching off on a yellow 9m Waroo. Awesome day.. we'll see you all again soon.

Thanks for the awesome pix, Henry!

My wife uses my account and so when I get in all the links are already viewed so I don't know what to read Crying or Very sad I will have to get her a separate id soon.

She really likes the thread with all our kiteboarding excuses, so I have to think of better ones all the time.

doesn't kiting make you a more focused person who even starts to think ahead? for example, can I gun it to HR from Portland in time to make a session without running out of gas?? or did I bring the keys to my house in case I'm locked out when returning at 10pm with a big silly grin? Laughing
