Still warm and windy down here in SPI. I've been on the water every day I've been here I think. Southwest Airlines has $99 each way flights mid week so come on down. We might be running out of Rum but the wind has run out. Here's a few pics.

Carol,
I appreciate your hospitality while visiting SPI. I wonder why your low on rum Wink That was a nice way to end my stay by spending it on your balcony with you and Tony. It was also pretty awesome to see the dolphins swim by from the ninth floor.
I looked at southwest.com and it looks like the flights from Seattle to Harlingen are disrupted for some reason. PDX to Harlingen are still in service.
Have fun at the US wind and water open!

Agreed Tony and Carol make a damn fine rum drink! Very Happy

You guys got a sweet deal following the wind and the sun all year. Hope conditions get good enough back here to draw you back soon. What's Stevenson without the Bolstad Clan? Very Happy

Thanks everybody! We've had a great time meeting more and more of the NW kiters every place we've traveled to this year. We've been very fortunate with the business - lots of hard work getting it up and going but also enough flexibility to work in some serious play time.

SPI has been great for kiting. I think this April / May time frame may be their best season. I think there have only been 1 or 2 days where we couldn't kite since we got there on April 15th. Now that we know where Holly beach is we figured out that you can go kiting even when people are sitting on the beach at the north flats waiting for wind.

Late last week and over the weekend we were running late working and didn't get out until around 4 each day but we were still able to kite and closed out Holly beach 4 days in a row with the just the two of us riding by ourselves until sundown. We even had one evening where we rode under the moonlight after it got dark - really neat but what a pain trying to roll up gear in the dark! And dodging the marker poles in the dark got a little hairy!

We'll be home on May 18th and hopefully back on the water in Stevenson on the 19th. Looking forward to fresh water and our grassy launch!

See everybody in a couple of weeks!

Tony

Tony and Carol, your place in SPI is awesome. Thanks for hosting the video recap night, the drinks were great. I am thinking we are going to have to make a April SPI a yearly trip for sure. It was really fun to see so many familiar faces.

See you guys in a couple weeks.
