hope we can rally everyone to make it out tomorrow.

if we are continuing brainstorm ways to further the mission of the cgka, we should also examine closely our sister organization.

I think just having a meeting would be healthy for the CGKA. In general I don't like meetings, got too many of them at work already... but sometimes you got to get together just to see what's up.

I think this thread shows exactly why we need to meet. Forums like this are a great spring board to launch and share ideas, but they aren't a substitute for meeting in person- fewer misunderstandings and more action. Any thoughts on where to meet if the weather isn't cooperating?

It's a little wet out in Hood River, I'm here now. The rain has stopped and the sky is looking clearer. I don't know where we're going to find dry wood for the fire though. Sad

Shredjim - Thanks once again for your time working with these issues. When a heated debate takes place, some of the fire is misdirected. The CGWA seemed indifferent, at best, to our access issues early last season, and now wants to regulate access this year. I don't think many kiteboarders want to have a regulated 'windsurfing only' zone in the river - This unexpected and somewhat unwelcome news was bound to create some backlash. I hope both w-surfers and kiters can see the benifits of Self-regulation and common sense. Sorry, I can not make this meeting tonight - I've got a Party to attend to. -C

Thanks Shay and Jim for bringing the meeting together, I think it went really well. It was good to hear it from the horses mouth on all the issues at hand. Looking forward to the follow up meeting in a few weeks.

Thanks to to Pepi for coming out and making his delicious hand cranked margaritas. Very Happy
