Some days you eat the bar and some days the bar eats you.

The siren call of 28 out of the south lured us in!

Easily four feet of fresh up there & zero vis.

Shay has the super-karma - sled brethern help us dig the beast out, get us on our way and we proceed to drive a mile and get stuck again - no problemo - guardian angel arrives helps us dig out a second time and watch as shay drives ten feet and drops the bitch off an embankment - everyone laughs there ass off Laughing Laughing Laughing Who put that cliff there.

Cool Ahhh memories! I have spent many a day "swimming" back to my sled.
Be careful the next step in the addiction..... Horsepower. It’s an expensive mistress.

more horsepower = increased speed of which your sled digs down as soon as foreward momentum slows. a light sled is the key to getting back on the top with minimal effort. its a no win game Wink

You are correct. The "perfect' sled is lightweight with a long floaty track and lots of horsepower to keep it on a "plane". Much like a boat. As a rule of thumb figure a $1000 per pound to shed weight from an already light sled. Track speed is key to hillclimbing.
However, once you get a high horsepower lightweight sled stuck (and you will) its a real chore to get it unstuck!

You sled dudes need to go out there in numbers.......Shay, I don't want to see your mug in the news...."lost snowmobiler on Mt. St. Helens"
We should keep our eye on the winds for next weekend. I know there will be tons of fresh. Rally?

I was slipping some new pistons in place just last nite.... Crying or Very sad hopefully geter done today and broke in tomorrow after work. #%$^&#Y sleds! I love how much wasted fuel escapes combustion when those fine machines are not upright. nice radiator / foot warmer. next weekend may indeed be the rally time at helens, team bluegene may represent our lack of skill. Horsepower and common sense are a great combination. Gotta know when to throw in the towel (or maybe not even get the sled off the trailer). All's well that ends well.

We certainly did better than some slednecks that were out there breaking off skiis.
