I've sometimes wanted to kill a newbie out there, but always held back as I was one once. From the looks of the photo I see a red patch; a sea lion beat me to it.

i kited near that stuff as it floated past the green channel marker just west of the WS bridge... looked like super red/maroon seaweed from about 50 yrds away. I decided to not get any closer since it was in lots of patches & wasn't clear if there was more under the surface, plus I remembered reading about the sewage spill upriver last week Shocked but it definitely didn't look like sewage.

Anyone get a better look? I went back to check it out later and couldnt find it- maybe drifted further downriver.

I kited by it as well in that same location. Looked like a mass I didn't want to get near either. Off topic: did anyone have a slight red/burning sensation around their nose after kiting? Wasn't a sunburn.

No nose itching/burning here despite a couple of board retrievals not too far from the Chipotle de mayo
