FYI...

This is off the Port of Hood River's Web Site

Same image that was shown at the Waterfront Recreation Committee Meeting on Tuesday

WOW... I'm suprised of how low the water is... and that dock where the stern wheeler is not accessible. Hopefully it'll be different when the westerlies come.

Why do you want it to be different?

Exactly!! No wind shadow from the stern wheeler. Lot’s of sandbar. Legal kite launching right in front of the event site.

Hope that sand holds… Rolling Eyes

How many people do you think will park at the event site and just walk over to launch? Looks like a much shorter walk to me than the actual sandbar parking area.

me

grass to pump kites on

couple 100 yd walk to launch rather than half a mile

running water

and a crapper-- a real live crapper

does anyone remember back in 03 and 04 when the port a pot would literally be overflowing, it looked like a mound of chocolate ice cream w peanut toppins right to the top

From the current sandbar picture, it looks like the river is already channeling its way west toward the event site...
