Which site is "The Ponds"?

Is this referring to the Lagoon side at Fort Stevens? Siletz Bay? Other??

I think it's the river side of Fort Stevents as you pointed out. Parking lot D I believe. You can see it on your right as you're driving past the shipwreck to the Clatsop Spit.

Enter Fort Stevens and continue on the road as far north as you can go to parking lot D. Follow the wood bridge to the beach.
