Heading that way on the 23. Little lady needs to be back by monday the 28. Anybody going snowkiting on Christmas or new years. The conditions look great I would like to stay longer and ride back to the hood river area with someone after the new year. Who's Shready?

Not much at the Pine cutoff. Sometimes the DOT station right there will plow out the parking area in front of the Cattle station and you can park there. Just past the cut off is a pull out.

a few miles further east is Malcomsen Snowpark with restrooms - last week it wasn't plowed out - no vehicle access. Not sure about now or through the season.

I'm staying in Hailey, so about an hour from Fairfield. Got out Wednesday at the Big Easy. About 3' of thick powder, good 12m til it whited out. Then got snow all Thurs, no wind yesterday or today. Maybe some thermals tomorrow. It's cold, 17, but the sun warms things up pretty good. Locals were saying this is the heaviest December in 18 years.

Hey Foghater,

I like this sight for the hourly:
http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?w0=t&w1=td&w2=wc&w3=sfcwind&w3u=1&w4=sky&w5=pop&w6=rh&w7=rain&w8=thunder&w9=snow&w10=fzg&w11=sleet&AheadHour=48&FcstType=graphical&textField1=43.3182&textField2=-115.1656&site=boi&unit=0&dd=0&bw=0&BackDay.x=63&BackDay.y=8

My take on today is light East. Head to Last Chance and rig big. The whole trick is getting up over that first bowl and beyond, then the terrain flattens out and the wind notches up. Good luck! Thumb's Up
