A&M Corpus Christi, UT at Corpus Christi. It's really cheap to live there and kiting doesn't get any better than the Packery Channel and Wildcat. I'm originally from San Antonio, TX and I still make a trip down there every year.

UCSB if you got the doe,

they kite from campus, have awsome surf and your in santa babalonia.

Otherwise, U of O and OSU for the local poor kid.

UW would give kiting on the lake and puget sound also has many places.

When I lived in Seattle, I would get as many days in the winter up there as I would get during the summer as a road warrior and would average 60+ days a year.

As a PSU and Lewis & Clark alum, I gotta chime in for staying local - you're already in the best spot. Very Happy

The SF bay area is pretty nice I agree. Season is great Spring until begining of Fall. However, if you plan on going home for the summers you should find somewhere that has wind as much as possible Fall-Spring. Then you can ride a lot while at school and then get the best of Oregon in the summer. Right now I just get Spring in the bay and Oregon in the summer, which ain't too bad I guess. Can't wait til March Smile

i think we should probably find out what you're interested in studying/doing when you grow up... before you're pointed at a bunch of colleges/universities... kiting is great, but unfortunately, it's not going to get you to the lifestyle that all of us want...

man...sometimes reality sucks.

NW schools make sense because you won't be distracted in the winter by kiting. Then you get all summer when the season is at its peak to kill it.

Plus you're too late for all of the UC and Cal State schools...they register way earlier than everyone else

I went to University of Hawaii at Manoa. You will need a car, but everyday you can either kite or surf. Plus it is always warm, there are girls everywhere, and you can go to class year round in board shorts and a tank top.

Dude, I think you should stay local - Portland area.
Everything you would ever want to do year round is all within a couple of hours drive...Not just kiting but Mt. biking, kayaking, snowboarding, hiking/climbing, ...Dude, it's all here...You cann't go wrong....
