I am heading down to the Alvord Dry Lake Bed (desert) this weekend (Friday through Monday) to get in some kite buggy and land boarding sessions. Wind and weather are forecast to be pretty good.

If anyone heads down that way I'll have the Alaska flag flying on the HIdeout, feel free to stop in and say hello.

Dan

Dan, you've got two of the three toys needed for the Alvord, but you're shy one.

Have fun down there. Make sure you find your way to Fields, OR for a burger and shake.

Oh man... funny you say that. I've been looking all summer for a dual-sport bike I can hit the trails on but use as a commuter too.

Which wind and weather forecasts do you use for Alvord?

I had no reference for this location - so I used BASQUE HILLS on iKite. The elevation of the site made it my choice.

Turned out to be a great but super long day. Flew down from Anchorage, grabbed the gear and buggy from Hood River then blazed all the way down to Burns, then Fields and up to Andrews to get on the lake bed.

WAY over powered on a 9.5 but it was super fun. Lots of land sailors out today and a jet car.

yeah... a jet car making a run down the lake bed.

The lake bed is nice and solid, real dry and great for riding.

Alvord Dry Lake Bed (Desert) - Ocean Rodeo 9.5m Prodigy - Peter Lynn Bigfoot+ and a kick ass good time.
