The big whites show up every year in August/September. They come up from California for the salmon.
Of course, there is the foolproof test to check if there are sharks in the area at the coast. Taste the water. If it tastes salty, there's sharks. |

Like previously stated, if the water is salty, there are sharks.
The Oregon coast and NorCal are notoriously sharky.
Having seen a big 18 footer firsthand (while fishing in a 24' boat) off Cape Cod I have determined that if they wanted to eat us, they would. They are in charge. |
