Ha....not even the Sandbar!
Honey, let it go and just go ride while pondering less of this; "oooohh...the big bad kiters are interfering with my learning curve so I'm going to keep on yelling"
And more of this;

It was only recently that I learned why "good" kiters on twin tips constantly overlap the beginner areas. They actually cannot ride in the rest of river as you suggest..
I always thought they were simply buzzing the shoreline to show off. But this is not the case. They are chasing the extremely elusive flat water which only occurs in the shallow area directly on the sandbar. The same place beginner's use - a place where they can touch the bottom.
They want to be able to execute the tricks on flat water and still be able to touch the bottom and recover when it all goes south. They are seeking the shallow water for the same reasons the beginners are.
They are not looking to ride river swell/chop like all the people on surf boards....Their set up and riding style cannot be executed elsewhere on the river. In fact I would go so far as say their boards would function terribly in the river chop. They are even starting out at the Marina, an area with terrible wind, but home to shallow water flat goodness.
I am not supporting the folks who terrorize beginners by constantly buzzing the lessons - but they are definitely not in the area to "show off". Even at eastern locations there is a reason they are chasing specific waters... |

My own words: Stop whining and start kiting
None of the "expert" kiters launching from the "terrible wind" at the Marina are trying to "terrorize" beginners.
They're trying to kite, jeez.
Yes flatwater is good for freestyle/wake, but not because you can touch the bottom, and not because the boards wouldn't work elsewhere. It's just flatwater. Thus wake style.
I do feel bad for the original poster, we've all been there before, but I think the forum has been more than accommodating and it's time to grow up, move on and deal with a crowded sandbar.
You're complaining about being in the epicenter of the greatest sport on earth.
And if you're not that good...go away! (to borrow a phrase) |

WORD! We all had to deal with it when we were learning. It makes one comfortable in crowded environments. |
