I also was kiting at Manzo when it was double overhead on a Sat and overhead on a Sunday; not on a day when the waves were chest high at best like those awesome pictures shown. Plus I go out for 2+ hours at a time and so I wear booties because I like toasty feet. Sure sometimes I can get away w/out booties and a hood. Whatever you're comfortable with when your line snaps and you have a 1/2 hour swim in from outside the break.
