Nope. Try Wintler Park over in Vanlanistan/Couvlanistan.

You can ride Frenchman's Bar (near Vancouver Lake) in a southerly.

I've been to frenchmans for a southerly. yes it has a good setup, but what keeps me from spending more time there is due to it's proximity to the willamette river. when we experience southerly winds, there's some substantial rain activity. if it wasn't that the willamette was bad enough, but with more surface street runoff I don't want to make my river nose any worse than it already is.
For south winds, I'll hit wintler park but the onshore conditions can make it challenging to get off the beach.

It would be ideal if one had a boat and or jetski and launched right at the tip of Lemon Island, just North of the PDX airport in the middle of the Columbia. Nothing but sand and lots of it for a while before the trees on the island SE of the tip. Also no obstructions upwind.

South and SW winds are always a gamble an unpredictable, I've always thought that doing an across the river run from Broughton Beach/Marine dr/airport to Wintler park would be a fun run.

Thanks for the feedback.

Less than perfect, I guess, but more convenient than Mexico.

The southerly options remind me of a John le Carre quotation:

"It was the worst of our plans, except for the others."
