I used one of these for the first month of kiting and I haven't even thought of using one of these for years. Whats up with that? Is the Knight a Noob? Wink

He is not using it. If he has a problem on the water, he can always clip into his board while self rescuing or sorting out an issue with his kite or other gear.

Or maybe it has something to do with naked women riding on his back.

i'm thinking it has to do with naked women on his back, 'cause he could just ditch his board and buy a new one when he returns for lunch.

Who needs a leash? Why body drag either? With his money he should just have a caddy on a jetski drop off a new board any time he's further than 5' from his board. Very Happy

based on the jersey he's wearing, he's participating in the largest (guiness book record) downwinder event.
ok it's only a mile long, but then it goes on for another 46 miles.
With that distance, I'd be inclined to carry one with me too.
sounds like a fun event! hope someday he invites me to necker!!!

Does anyone know if Sir Ricardo has ever come to the Gorge? You'd think he'll eventually make it there for some summer swell and the whole Hood River good vibe. I mean the Gorge is about as famous as anyplace for wind right?

Be Stoked!!!

he should ride with his hands closer together, you can't possibly get even line tension with your hands that far apart!!!!

That is a ludicrous thing to say!
Sometimes you need your hands close in for stability....... Sometimes you need them Far Apart for quick turns especially on waves. Kitesurfing is not a static sport

THE REAL Issue, is the seat harness instead of a waist , I mean dang! I'm bigger than that guy but still use the waist harness........

All I can think of when I see this pic is BIG BLACK DIAPER. And at least if he does a seat harness he should get one of those board-shorts/seat harness combos.

Riding styles are personal and everyone has their own preference of the type of water they prefer to ride in and on. Personally, I doubt he rides waves and or swell at all. He seems perfectly content to give naked super models rides, on his back that is;-), in windy lagoons aka "mowing the lawn with a twin tip and maybe sending it a bit and getting some airs.

But if he did (and don't get me wrong, the gorge is sweet) I doubt he would come to the gorge over say the Marshall Islands, Hawaii, and numerous other tropical riding locations around the globe with warm azure waters and wonderful wave breaks.

Plus he probably creates and or imports his own "vibe" wherever he goes kiting, I suspect.
