Hi everybody, I am reaching out to see if anyone in the kite community can give me a hand moving to Seattle this Monday. Yes, I am bummed to have to leave Hood River, don't rub it in!! You would tow your own vehicle behind the uhaul and drive it back. Just the drive, no help unloading. I can pay $300 +gas for your time. PM me if interested. Also, if anyone has recommendations for where to kite in Seattle I'd love to hear them. Jetty island I've heard is good. Thanks!

It's my personal opinion (and most folks on PSkite.com) that Seattle is a place with more wind options than anywhere in the US. Coast, Sound, Gorge, Squamish, Wenatchee.
If you really want to kite in the winter several days per week... get a 5 mil or a drysuit and come to Damon Point with us. It's a very rare weekend when you won't find at least a day of 12M +.
Sorry, I'm free but can't help with the move.
Here's some kite options:

alternative to hauling the car....

buy them an amtrak ticket back to portland. cheap tickets, maybe easier?

we've taken the train before, it's very relaxing and only takes 3:30 vs 3:00 in car

Welcome to the Seattle Kite scene Dave. Where are you planning on living? Kip is right there are a lot of options for Southerlies in the fall through spring. Most of the time we ride kites in 10M range on those days. Summer time Jetty kiting is 14M most of the time and can be fickle. However Jetty is a gorgeous spot and when it is on it is really fun. The Gorge is still only a 3.5 hour drive away. Believe me, it goes by fast. Check in with PSkite.org and introduce yourself.

Be Stoked!

Guys, thanks for the warm welcome to the Seattle kite scene. I h ad no idea there were so many options! Laughing
I'll be living in the Kirkland/Juanita area.
Sounds like I better get on PSkite and start looking for a dry suit
