A buisness trip is taking me from Idaho to So. Cal. the first week of Sept, So I thought I would take a couple of days to get there and check out some of the lakes in Nevada on the way. In doing some research, my route will take me past Walker lake, Antelope reservoir, rye patch, Humbolt, and a few other small ones. Anyone on here have any experience kiting these spots, or others? any info would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks in advance.

Pyramid lake North of Reno can work.
Washoe Lake (between Reno and Carson city) is the most reliable but may be dried up. Lake Lahonton near Fallon can be good.
Lake Mojave down south is supposed to be quite good.
Lake Tahoe of course, not too consistent however.

Going to miss the Burn by a few days, but that looked interesting. Might have to throw in the mountain board.

Thanks for the info.

SW corner of walker lake, just drive off highway 95. Wind seems steady, was a N each time. The campground on N side is nice, but wind doesn't seem to get in there because mountain.
If you are real S Cali, and find yourself close to Bullhead or Laughlin, then a few minutes drive out of town will put you on SE end of Mojave. Go to cabinsite cove, it's a shallow boat launch and vehicles can not stay parked there, so it's a great safe launch. Wind is either S or N if blowing, and does a lot.
Lots of dry lake beds all over. Check them out and look where the Blow carts run, they make a very smooth track for mountain board kiting.

I may have to choose between Mojave or Lake Isabella. Any suggestions? Ive kited Isabella several times, but love checking out new spots. Tough choice.

South is best, forecast is really early, but looks kiteable next week.

Although I would not recommend Mohave for labor day weekend! it will be unkiteable at six mile due to crowds.

Mohave has very gusty winds this time of year. monsoon season so its not the most reliable this time of year.
