Gotcha beat! '86 Cj7 that we're dragging down to LV in a few weeks. Goes fitty! Reminds me of.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CPss95p3Ck

Okay, your van is pretty nice too.

Weekends and an evening here and there is not enough time (for me at least) to finish a conversion, but it's a fun and challenging project. Next step is flooring and interior framing.

Looking great Spike!!!

Well the CJ7 did not make the trek to Baja as it was having a last minute rear brake issues (brake dragging -the rear brakes were the one thing I skipped given the time crunch). We were already 3+ hours late leaving home and the right rear drum was as hot as a pistol. Had to unhook it and leave at home (went and got fuel then realized we forgot helmets, so ran home and that's when I discovered the brake issue). Now back and finishing up the rest of the mechanical stuff (replacing everything I can think of...including the rear brakes). Not sure if I'll keep it or not (bought solely for this last Baja trip), but would be nice to have a gettin' 'round rig when in Flores, etc.

Our true kite rig did make it to LV, however:

Skunked then too much for our skills (lack of skill, I should say) before we moved on to SJD, Cabo Pulmo, Los Barriles, etc.. Still, the view did not suck in LV.

I could fit a quiver of kites and all needed gear in this. The drive was just a fun as kiting.

Looks like a Lotus. Did you really drive with a surfboard attached that way? Nice kite-mobile.

Yes it's a lotus and yes I did drive it with the surfboard strapped to the top.

Awesome ubuild platform. Cheap! I'd buy it but I already have a van.

Still a work in progress, but I recently beefed up the rear frame and installed a proper hitch on it. Wrangler half doors going on once I score a silly plastic clip I need. Just used it to run down to and plop in at Celilo and search for that long lost board (no luck Patricia).
