Hood this weekend..

Hi! Im going to rent a cabin at hood river this weekend to snowboard and party, and wondered about if the kiting is all dead by now, or if i should bring some kites as well??

I dunno how the wind is out that far east, but if the kites fit, I'd bring them!!!

Thanks.. i'll see if i can stuck it in there..and how thick wetsuit is preferd now.. i hav a 5/3, or a dry one..

here is the forecast from ikite for the eventsite. All i can say is that it looks like some gnarly ass wind will be coming through the gorge.

I'd still bring the kites if you got room, snowkiting will be an option, maybe, dont believe the computer models over 3 days out; it'll most likely change.

Hola.. figured out i'm not gonna go kiting on the river., but if anyone snowkiting this weekend, or know a place to go around hood im down.. let m know...

We're hosting a Snowkite video premier party tonight at the River City Saloon in Hood River at around 8pm.
No cover charge, and we'll be tossing out shwag from Slingshot.
We expect to have some local snowkiters at the event to share with us some of their experiences.

Go to the Chinese restaurant on 2nd Street, the Golden Rose? (locals call it Jacks). Order up a couple of Scorpion Bowls. Drink up, then head down around the corner to the River City Saloon for live music.

Ask Gumby or Taren to let you use the Shotski for a couple rounds of your favorite liquor (tell them that Pepi from 2nd Wind recommended this).

Mix well, and enjoy.

NOTE - local saying is "come on vacation, leave with citation". Our local law enforcement are notorious for handing out DUI's, so if you are going to drive, try not too, or just walk.
