**Official 72hr Notice**
Everything is looking great in Pismo Beach to kick off our West Coast Regional Championship. The sea breeze is forecasted for 10-20kts out of the West and a swell of 6-8ft. Registration from 9-11am Friday morning, rider meeting at 11:30, first heat at noon (wind depending). We will be setting up between Pier and Grand Ave.
We will have two local riders Mikey Benaron and James Ropner to help us judge the event and the top school will be going home with a new Liquid Force 134 Focus with Fusion bindings.
Divisions: Advanced (inverts, handle passes, loops) or Amateur (inverts, grabs, jumps) and Alumni (former college riders non Pro)
Prizes for top 3 for Surf (Advanced/Amateur/Alumni), Freestyle (Advanced/Amateur/Alumni) and Top Woman.
$250 in cash and prizes for the top CKA riders and TBD $ for Alumni

**Also to compete in CKA with the exception of Alumni you have to be taking a minimum of 6 credit hours at a college or university. If your academic status is questioned by any riders CKA reserves the right to ask for proof of college enrollment.

Things continue to go our way at Pismo Beach and the forecast is still set at 10-20 kts out of the West and a swell of 5-7ft with increasing winds towards the end of the day. Registration is from 9-11am Friday morning, rider meeting at 11:30, first heat at noon (wind depending). We are planning on setting up closer to Grand Ave, where there is better parking and an entrance to the beach ($5 daily).
Given the larger swell on Friday, we hope to start with the surf division and do the freestyle on Saturday. If the forecast holds then we should be able to have the contest wrapped up by the end the day Saturday. We will discuss the judging criteria at the rider meeting Friday morning, but you will be judged based on your moves while surfing, with a best out of 100 pts format. The heats will be determined after registration has concluded, but you should expect four man heats of 10 min and either a single or double elimination depending on the number of individuals in your division.
Mucho importante, we need to leave the beach as clean as we found it, so we are asking for volunteers to help with collecting garbage and bringing them to the bin.
Judges have been announced. Afterparty brought to you by #BIP.
Nationals
Are unlikely to go down in June. We are very excited with our current proposal for early July. Stay tuned for further info. CKA provided clubs with invitation to Nationals which they used to gain funding for travel and accommodation allowances.
Jobs at CKA
We are proud to announce the new role at CKA of Industry Coordinator. Alumni Billy Bosch has volunteered to take the role so we hope to be able to offer even more prizes and deals from out sponsors moving forward. We are desperately seeking Media who will be responsible to ensure photos at events are taken and they are filmed/edited. Also knowledge of running social media a bonus.

Deadline for all entries into the $1,000 cash prize extension to our Video comp is April 22. All videos will be counted and the team with the most video hits winds a 2013 Best 12m kite.

Change of plans for tomorrow we are on the hunt for stringer winds and epic waves. Location TBD, but the plan is to meet at the SLO Albertsons (771 Foothill Blvd, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405) at 11am and head to the contest area.
We will bring the contest back to Pismo Beach on Saturday for the freestyle contest.

The wind didn't work out for us today. Tomorrow we are sticking to the original plan to run both Freestyle and Surf events at Pismo.
