My wife and I are thinking of heading down to Las Ventana for a couple of days on Saturday... Does anyone have any info on wind forecasts for the area? Also, we're looking at maybe staying at Palapas Ventana. Any word on if this place is good? Any other recommendations? Thanks everybody! Very Happy

Haven't been down this year but our kids are down there and so far the wind has been sketchy - 9 days kiting, 12 days no wind. But it generally gets better as winter moves along.

Palapas Ventana is a nice place - never stayed there but stopped in for a drink at the restuarant while it was under construction two years ago. Very nice people running the place. I've heard Baja Joe's is good too, with a little bit younger noiser crowd than some other places.

Capt. Kirk's is a great place to stay. We've been there a couple of times and really enjoyed it. They only have one, or maybe two now, nice casitas, the rest of their stuff is travel trailers but they're comfortable and clean and hard to beat on price.

If I get a wind report from Grom or Shannon in the next couple of days I'll post it for you.

nak, we stayed at Pelican Reef last year and will be returning in at the end of december for two weeks. great accomodations, good lauch that puts you near the break above the campground (shares the launch with Captain Kirk's), and breakfast and lunch are included. quiet and comfortable, nice hosts, good with or without kids. have fun.

I second the pelican reef its 5 star la ventana style. although the price is going up as rapidly as the property values.
