Windance used to have this page that listed the typical wind range for a given gradient. Anyone remember what the wind range is for a given pressure gradient?
0.05 = ??mph
0.08 = ??mph
0.10 = ??mph
0.13 = ??mph
0.15 = ??mph |

Wouldn't that be affected by the geography of a certain spot? So there wouldn't be a direct translation to wind speed? When you have a pressure gradient from Portland to the Dalles - there is not wind along the whole route. Just certain spots due to the geography............. |

Yes to clarify I am talking about the Hatch/Event site wind speed related to PDX-DLS pressure gradient. |

right this minute the pdx-dls is .13 and it's blowing 28 at the hatchery (6m).
but there's other factors that are important - like the north south gradient and the gradient out east (huge today).
0.05 = ??mph - call Indian creek for a tee time.
0.08 = ??mph - 14m kite
0.10 = ??mph - 10 12m kite
0.13 = ??mph - 8m kite
0.15 = ??mph - 6m kite |
