Hey everybody, we've got a couple of trips coming up and just wanted to check to see if anybody else was going to be out and about so we could hook up and go kiting with you.

First one: South Padre Island, Nov 15 - Nov 29. Also plan on making a run up to Corpus during this trip to kite with Bucky Ashcraft. Southwest has some pretty cheap flights into Brownsville.

Second one: La Ventana, Dec. 16th - Jan 1st. Going down to see Grom and Shannon, camp at Yoyo's, hang on the beach, and kite our butts off! Alaska Airlines has a sale on flights to Mexico going on through the end of the year.

If the rain and the cold is killing the stoke think about making a trip south to get some kiting in. Cool

Maui in mid December before the holidays - Hawaiian air has some killer deals on airfare and you can find cheap digs on vrbo.com. I think 6 of us from PDX area are going so far from Dec 8 to 15 if anyone wants to join up. Hopefully, Jaws will go off and we can watch the pros. Very Happy

I'm heading to Los Barriles on Dec. 15-22nd in case you happen to check it out, or we might take a drive to La Ventana at some point to see how it is. Let's hope we get some solid wind while we're there Smile

Here's SPI at sunset yesterday. Unbelievable color. No fancy lenses, no photoshop, just a magical session by Tony and Phillip at the flats.

A couple more pics of SPI. It is really a great spot to play, fantastic for beginers and for trying out new tricks on the flat water. Only disappointment so far is that we've been on our biggest kites the whole time. (14m & 16m).

Looking back at the north flats parking area on the beach. Low tide so a little bit of a walk to the water!

The sunset session was really cool. I kept getting distracted watching my spray go up and come down in this cool golden arc. Philipp and I kept going back and forth doing these short speedy tacks trying to maximize our time between the sun and the camera but every now and then we'd just lean back and cruise watching all the colors change. The last hour as the sun was going down was just fantastic!
