My friend sent me these pictures. Hopefully they can get at least one of the roads fixed so Meadows can open on time.

I heard you could get there through the dalles on a forest service road.

- The only problems with that suggestion are that this particular road is only accessible via snowmobile in the wintertime, and it only gets you access to 35 just above Sherwood Campground.
The wash out on the HR side of 35 is above Sherwood and below Pocket Creek.

A couple of us have been brainstorming ideas for how to get snowmobile access to Heather Canyon via the x-c trails from Cooper Spur. Any ideas out there?

Otherwise, we'll be using all the Randonee backcountry kits we brought into 2nd Wind Sports a lot more then we had planned on.

I think you could probably count Bachelor in the mix as well. . .

Wonder if Meadows will be giving refunds to those w/ passes? Question

I dont know why really, but for some reason I trust what Dave has to say. So when he says they're gonna get their poop in a group in time for the season, I believe it. He's right too, I've seen those "big yellow machines" do some amazing things in a very short period of time, especially growing up on the coast.

AND if they don't, its going to seriously harsh my buzz this winter.

meadows draws a lot of tourism i'm guessing. if people come to the state to ski there, it helps the airport and hotels and employs people living in HR. so yeah, probably a top priority.

let us hope

edit: having said that, if that bridge has structural damage it could be a while. clearing roads and even fixing the washout is one thing, building a bridge is another.

if only it could have been cold enough so all that rain would have been pow Rolling Eyes

dudes - I'm bummed. I bought a season pass for Meadows - it was the first time I shelled out for a season pass and if they don't open up for several months - then the money is washed down the drain Sad not to mention I won't get to board as much - totally bummed what can I say?

Fuck that sucks, but for you guys that have Meadow's passes (I didn't get one this year), I'm sure you'll still get good use out of them so long as we get a decent snowpack this year.

2003, had a Meadow's pass and it was good, 2004, had another pass, got 2 times on it, 2005, was still pissed about 2004 and didn't buy shit, and this year... rather kite or snowkite! Wink

I have been looking for spots and the 2 on the website below seem the best along with Timberline. at least as far as going without a sled.

Ski lifts are for pussies.

Go buy some tele skis, some skins, and earn your turns, bitches!

...or, do what I did, move to San Diego and just surf and kite in Baja all winter!

I thought you didn't like baja - a bunch of corrupt cops, etc.
you seem to be quite angry at the world. Do you ever post anything positive?
