Hey, when I was a kid dreaming about La Ventana in the George, nobody knew anything about what was going on down here. Well I finially made it, all 2,513 miles from my house in Stevenson, and I'm happy to report that the damage to the town after the hurricans was pretty small. The roads have been damaged in some parts but the palapas are still standing at YoYo's campground. For $8 a night for 2 people and an extra $5 per person, anyone can get a spot. In fact, the town is pretty empty and the wind has been great. Every day I've been lit on my 9m Link and loving the warm water. If anyone in the George has the Baja Blues right now is a great time to come down.

What's the air/water temp in La Ventana for Dec 23-30th? I'm meeting my family down there and I'm wondering if they will be able to go swimming without a spring suit comfortably. Also how cold does it get. I'm assuming they will be ok with a sweater and maybe a windbreaker for the windy days.

Hey Scribble,

Carol and I are going to LV Dec 16th thru Jan 1st, taking my three kids down to see Shan and Grom. Come to Yoyo's campground and say hi!

We've been down once before at Christmas and wore shorty's on the water and sweatshirts in the evening. Cools off pretty good at night (low 60's?) but I can't remember the water temperatures. It can get a little cool if when the El Norte kicks in.

Shannie! we live in the Gorge! not George! Hope you guys are having fun! Post some pictures!

La Ventana sucks. Don't listen to Shannon. She's a naive young girl. There are jellyfish galore, you'll likely get Dengue fever, I promise you the shits, the cops are corrupt, Baja is filled with bandidos, and it's as gusty as the Gorge.

Whatever you do, don't go there.

Yeah, see? That place looks awful - you do NOT want to go there!
Not even a whitecap on the water... for winter travel you should go to, say.. Cabarete! Yeah, definitely go to the DR...

And what a great way of life Blake has, keep the choads out and let only the ones that really deserve it in. Baja sucks, he's right, my palapa is really just too small and the drinks at Pablos this year have really been the worse.
