Thu Nov 02, 06 2:51 pm Dodgeball... |
|
|
What could be more fun than freezing your hands off in the gorge in order to kite in rainy and gusty conditions ?
I'll tell you, smoking an 8" rubber ball into the side of someones head and then grabbing a beer afterwards. Yes folks, its winter dodgeball time here in PPDX.
So to fight off the winter blues I want to get a dodgeball team together.
Here is the low down:
-Quasi league games are played on tuesday nights at 7:30 in Milwaukie.
-You can show up to as few or as many quasi league games as you want.
-It costs $35 per team, per event soo like $5.
-6 team memebers on the floor at one time, team can have up to 8 players.
- 12 games per event.
We have 6 opening on the team right now. Anybody interested? |

When the Columbia freezes over to a 12" thick slab of ice, then it MIGHT stop kiting. I need my fuckin' drysuit first though. |

Maybe it could be called "Team Slingshot" if swag is involved? Could there be a SS sales rep out there to talk too? |

That's nuts! Wonder if there's wind out there... Snowkite? Except we'd want a layer of pow over it! |

Just as an update: we played dodgeball last night for over 2 hours.
NWkite members Tony, Garrett , and Larry were in effect as we did our best to defeat the legions of high school students that we were squaring off against.
I have to say that the middle aged kiteboarders did pretty well all things considered. We one our first two best of three games face offs. I'm not sure if it was the pre-game beer chug or the fact that I couln't feel my arm going into the second round, we only one 2 of the next 9 games.
Good times were had by all, and the post game steak and o'rings at the accropolis never tasted so good. |

Damn straight ....Thanks PDXMonkey...Dodgball kicked ass....Lots of fun...I had a great time.
Personally, I originally thought we would be playing with a bunch of little kids - but not true...Most of them highschool kids looked stronger, ran faster and hit harder than most people my age (30+)...Holy crap...How I wish I was 17 again...Those guys were all way cool...I hope the chearleaders play next time
Hey, I recommend the beers for after the games...Those few drinks we had before playing - kinda set me back a bit .....
Above all, what a great way to work out during the off season (kiting)...I woke up the next morning and holy crap...I could hardly move
Thanks to Larry - for driving...
Anyone Interested - P.M. PDXMonkeyBoy...Give it a try. |
