Don't even need to click on the link. If it comes from you, I am sure it is all about how this awful man is going to take away your right to walk around armed to the teeth with as much weaponry as humanly possible.

You gun nuts are loopy.

It's kind of cool. I've had it on the background while at work today and it's about alternate ways to treat cancer other than traditional radiation. I hate cancer and have lost a lot of family to it and really appreciate knowing about alternate ways to treat it. I don't know who's a gun nut and who isn't on this kiteboarding forum but thanks for sharing this!

I also think we should be able to have guns but I'm not a gun nut and I don't own a gun and never have. But I do think it's our right to be able to defend ourselves from whatever trouble comes our way. How can you lay down and allow amy government to tell you that you aren't able to defend yourself?? I think that's loopy and irresponsible.

Why in the world would you ever need a gun???
The cops are always there doing their jobs and guns only lead to bad things for everybody. Only reason one can possibly have one is for hunting with maybe a few rounds limit

Dude, some of you are pretty rude on here. Are you calling me a dumbass for just writing some words in reply to an interesting video posted on a forum in my free time Campbell? KT, you are calling this person a loopy gun nut because they posted a video about cancer treatments? It seems to me like you are just mean spirited people. Don't watch this video, you might learn something about saving you or a loved one if you come down with cancer.

I worked in a cancer hospital for 7 years. I wish we had some alternative treatments that worked. We don't. It just more lunacy from you know who.

Its a harsh truth that I saw first hand. There is no cover-up. It kills people and all the Livestrong BS won't change that.

Research will. That funding comes from the Government, and is our only real hope.

I feel sorry the level of ignorance in this country has reached this point, where Doctors are no longer believed, and Rand Paul lunatics are.

Go ahead and lock this up.

Ozone kites are way better than Naish kites. SS bars rule over Ocean Rodeo bars. North boards are way better than Underground boards...

"Listen for it ". ( sound of the prison gates shutting during Lockdown.) Razz

Lock it down.

I'll start by saying "I'm not an animal nut".
Look into eating a Fully Plant based diet (Vegan diet) for cancer. Ask your doctor if it will hurt your therapy. They won't tell you not to eat Vegan. But they don't learn about food as medicine in Medical school, other than how certain foods will react with certain medications.
Read "The China study" or watch "forks over knives". Both are good intros to the reasoning behind a plant based diet.
A fully plant based diet is shown to be a treatment for cancer, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, MS and so many other problems including weight gain. I lost around 20 pounds in 20 days as soon as I switched to a plant based diet. And I don't starve myself. I still eat a lot of food.
A full plant based diet has no cholesterol.

It's a tough decision to make but the facts are there if you want to look for them.

The first three weeks suck. But then your taste buds change and your body has expelled most of the stored toxins that were in your body.

I do find it funny that we immediately attacked Hein for this post- especially since most didn't watch it. If CNN had posted this, you would be quoting it like it was the Bible. Where did the gun comments come from. This is about corporate greed funded by the government. I watched the full video, but you don't have to. Look around. Read a little of the news. The media is pushing what the government wants us to think about certain issues. Who do you think is winning with the ban on guns? Thats right, gun manufactures, gun shops - they have sold out of everything that is assault what ever- Who makes money when that happens - Share holders and the government on dividends and taxes. This video just shows it in a larger scale and for something that could save some lives.

As the husband of someone fighting triple negative breast cancer at the age of 38, it makes me sick that the FDA would fight so hard to prevent a doctor from developing a new drug to fight cancer, but when I review the bills for my wife's treatments, it is no wonder why they would want to limit competition.

Good post Hein.

Ms I agree with you but, a plant based diet will not prevent cancer. It may help but there is no clinical evidence meat is bad for you. Is it healthy? If its lean, organic, yes.. Do we consume too much? yes. Are there to many chemicals in our food that might contribute to cancer rates, probably. Is your plant based diet free of chemicals? NO. Your plate should 2/3rds plants and one third protein. We are exposed too many chemicals in our enviorment as well as our food. To say changing to plant or FISH like the japanese is too simple an answer. Genetics play a role breast cancer, coln cancer etc..

Yes movies like King Corn are true, but it also true we cannot support the world on organic farming. You would kill 2/3rds of the population through starvation. Might wanna think about that.

Lurk - have you ever heard of the China Study?

It links cancer to eating meat.
It's pretty well respected.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_China_Study_(book)

There a documentary called "Forks over Knives" that's based on this study.
It's available on netflix, etc.

I know some smart health-concious people who became vegetarians after viewing this documentary.

I read the china study interesting book. I also read good calorie bad calorie another interesting book. They come to very different conclusions but they both show the goverment doing a very poor and unscientific job in diet recomendations.

Both this book and this movie have been pretty thoroughly debunked.

I've always got along great with Hein in person even though I completely disagree with the political views he espouses on the interwebs.

Absolutely! BMI is beyond stupid. According to the FDA I'd be at my ideal weight anywhere from 127 pounds to 169 pounds. i know I'm over weight now--and losing for the sake of my knees--but when I was running Ironman I was at 180 pounds. Anything less and I slowed down. I went down to 172 just to try it, easy to do when you're working out hard 6 hours a day. My times slowed dramatically down. My body fat was probably less than 5%. I looked gaunt as hell. And yet the FDA said I was overweight??? Hell, their 127 ideal would quite literally kill me. So no, I don't really trust the FDA to do anything right if they can't even figure out what weight a person should be.

BTW, I WILL be down to 190 for the Summer, and down to my ideal weight of 180 soon thereafter. Don't really have a choice anymore about that.
