JK, tell your wife you have to work some overtime this Saturday and lets go kiting before you head out to the east coast w/ the reast of the brady bunch. Oh remember dude, don't get so excited on the plane - that you end up wearing your kiteboard harness...They might not let you pass with that "safety knife" you have on...  Hide that shit.....Oh, but you might be in luck. I think they might let you bring your hair spray and mouth wash....Check before you board....  |

Airlines around the world are SO different. On a flight from Zanzibar to Dar Salaam the stewardess (air waitress) came and took a girl seating next to me to the cockpit to fly on the jump seat IN THE COCKPIT. This allowed them to "sell" her seat and make more $.
From Dar Salaam to Amsterdam on KLM they served us lots of food with METAL KNIVES and forks.
Landed in San Fran and took Alaska back to Portland only to have all my "mini" bottles of shampoo and toothpaste taken from me. Just lucky not to be probed I guess!

Ohh yeah,
I borrowed a oversized black nike golf bag to carry my kites and board. It got wierd looks everywhere I went. In Africa they must not golf because I got asked all the time what was in the bag. One guy asked if I was carrying a dead body ( the bag did look kind of like a padded coffin) I just looked down and made the sign of the cross. He let me thru with no more questions. He did look shocked as I drug the bag away bouncing it down the stairs!

We just secured 2 Minivans -or- equivalent (hopefully SUV's if they run out of minivans.)
Also, I called real-K and asked about repairs...they have a full-time stitch-bitch on site so if we have any kite problems they can fix 'em within 24hrs! Hooray! |
