We're looking for anyone that's also driving that might want to cruse with us (our mom says it's safer this way, in case one car brakes down.) Thanks and see ya down there

There will be a ton of RVs and windfreaks going down, you can probably just draft someone, but I know Andy is heading down. Give me a call and I will get you his number. Also, when you stop by here on your way through I can show you maps and beta on the whole route - that'll make it easier, too. |

The hardest thing to learn down there is to throw your toilet paper in the garbage can instead of flushing it away!

sucks learning handle passes down there(no flat water)
unless you are talking about dangle passes
spi is the same distance, still in america, cheap as hell
and more flat water than you'll ever know
plus we left a slider down there, and hein left his mini kicker at cliffs
just thought you might want to know |

Sure... but it's Texas. If you've never done the Baja, you GOTS TO GO! It's part of the kiter-experience! And once it's in your blood, you have to keep going back.
Maybe its something in the water... |

i'll go back to baja--just not ventana or barilles
to many windsurfers with bad attitudes
they think they own the place(camping 5ft from the next one in their 100,000 dollar campers) one guy was picking fights with me just cause i kite.
i heard he still wants a piece of craig-- and craig is one of the mellowest guys i know
and it is just a big wind blown bay(was there for 2 mon and had 1 day of swell in ventana and 1 in barilles)
with that said there are some very cool kiters that go there every year
but anyway, enjoy
the drive down is a little adventure
check out the coast it is much more exciting, just not much wind til the spring
just thought i would throw spi out there |

Every time I do the math SPI always comes out cheaper than Baja... plus your staying in a 3 star hotel with continental breakfast, cable tv, etc.. last time we rented a house with 6 guys, came out to like 20 bucks a day per person. We had an xbox and everything.
There are spots where the water is super butter flat. and then there are also downwinders in the waves.
Baja seems cool if you got like a month to spend and you can camp. Then you'd save a lot of money. Also for Dec-Jan Baja is warmer/more reliable from what I hear. November is about as late as I'd go to SPI. They have a winter, but its only 2 months long.
I wanna go to SPI this April, best month of the year wind wise, hot, cheap... |

If you plan on going to SPI in April then plan on drinking a ton. We were there last April on my Spring Break. It was nuts the party sceen. The bad part is that so many people from the middle of the country go to SPI on spring break, they have never seen kiting. Last year the choads were all touching my lines and kite while I was trying to launch. It was very annoying. _________________ Aloha |

what do you do in SPI when it doesn't blow? in Baja you can snorkel, go on some cool hikes, mt bike, dirt bike, scuba dive (not all right in la ventana but in the general area) |

Hang out at SPI Kiteboarding.
Watch Cable TV while surfing the net in the moho.
Shop at the Super Walmart.
Head to Home Depot for some materials to extend the mini kicker.
At least that's what I'll be doing.
