I had a one-design stock windsurfer and remember when I learned to do a head dip and sail on the upwind side of the sail inside the boom. 1980 - they offered windsurfing as college course at Santa Barbara City College where I was going fresh out of high school. That was the shit. Oh yeah, and I broke a mast in the surf on my second session ever. Matt Schweitzer, Robby, Pete, Mike Waltze - they were leading the way, and eventually their innovations led to where we are today.
