I am thinking of heading to Maui the middle of October for a little kiting. Does any one know if that is a good time of year. Any advice? Places to stay, etc- Thanks- |

good time to go for sure- kinda the off season as far as maui goes.
bring your small kites... i used my 7, 9 the most. plan on surfing in the morning and kiting in the afternoon.
the beach at kanaha park is most friendly to haolies. kite-beach isn't bad but don't expect anyone to launch or land you if they don't know you.
we stayed at paia at http://www.wabi-sabi.org/ and thought it was a sweet place for a decent price.
the tree house is pretty killer and the cheapest i think. _________________ www.lancekoudele.com |

Hey Garret, we usually stay in or near Paia (super chill and close to the kite launches). Check out VRBO for some great places to stay. Here's the link: http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/hawaii/maui#3044
For cheap eats, try Maui Taco or stock up at Coscto for long trips. |
