For sure Ruben goes large and technical... But, your obviously not a windsurfer or have ever tried windsurfing? Way more difficult sport to learn and progress in, although surfing still gets my most difficult of all vote.

But then world class athletes like both Ruben and Rob would pretty much eat our lunch at whatever sport they decided to excell in...

Hey no doubt... my only try at windsurfing ended in a lot of shame... I have never ever doubted its technical difficulty!

I never said windsurfing was easy, all im saying is he is really cool and hardcore for doing such technical maneuvers, with such sick style, I mean who WOULDNT want to do that? He must have crashed super hard a few times trying those POWERED UP maneuvers, especially with all that distance and height, definately HARDCORE. To hardcore for me. But I guess Ill just have to stick to the cool sports.

As far as him getting to my skill level? Im not to worried about it as Im always progressing as well.

thanks for the link. I downloaded the latest. I still get a message that says Quicktime is missing software to display this movie file. Unfortunately, it is not available on the quicktime server. Mad

Sorry for hijacking this thread. I will figure it out.

totally agree with Bam. Rob kicks ass, and windsurfing is and always will be way harder than kiting. Rob was the second best sailor for Windwing and worked really hard to become the best. I agree even a dangly boost on a kite looks cooler than most all of that willy skippy windsurf stuff, but you can't discount the dedication and talent it takes to excell at windsurfing. You can bet ur ass no one takes up a poleboard and dominates in a year or two LIKE KITING! Keep up with it Rob, all the best.

Guess you thirteen year old kids really don't know all that much after all... Its about supporting water/wind/wave sports. Now get off the internet and back to class...

I just got out of class, and i asked my teacher why windsurfing is so lame. HE told me it is because only old farts do it anymore. I guess he is right.

BTW I am older than 13

BTW I doo support the wind sports and the majority of windsurfers are dicks to me and my kiting friends. I have given up on them, they are stubborn old men and women who start every phrase "In my day..." "we used to have to make our sails out of old tarps we would find on the side of the highway"

He's unhooked and look how much more mobility he has.

Unhooked strapless freestyle on a small surfboard could
be cool: variety of tacks, board spins, unhooked board offs,
board slides with a handle pass, etc. Of course you'll need this:

I would like to see anybody who reads this come to Florence and windsurf with our local Pole Dancers ,(much less PROS)they get so many turns and go out in the real shit we should respect the contributons of them to kiting and what was done to get us where we are.(where?)
That said when it's huge(20') they have a hard time getting out and we kiters TAKE over .
But put us on the pole boards and we would be crying harder than them.
Here there IS RESPECT and comaraderie, more fun
As a Windsurfer for many years I can tell you Kiting is much EASIER .
But I'm not into SPOCKS ,nor tricks on strings
great pics

If you want one in EPS with an epoxy layup then
I can cut you out a core and have it professionally
glassed at Cascade Fiberglass. EPS ain't the greatest
for kiteboards but if you don't add straps then it
will be OK. Heel dents some but it is very light ~4.5lbs
Price complete with Quad Thin Fins & deck pads: $625

I'm working on a PVC foam cored version that will be
more money and more durable.
