There was a bunch of stuff on the best website a couple of months ago. They came up with making sure you remove the inflation stopper when you roll the kite up. and putt it in hot water to shrink it up.

Thanks JP. That image is now filed away in memory. I've read some of the more permanent solutions but at the beach grabbing a zip tie from my tool box would be a lot easier than trying to locate hot water etc.

I read that 2 years ago and have used the technique.
I have found that the zip tie is an excellent permanent solution that takes all of 15 seconds to install which includes trimming the excess (not shown in photo).
cheers,

good post j.p. one question - does it mess with the stopper ball's ability to lock in a seal? looks sort of like you've got it on permanent pinch....

By "stopper ball", you mean the one which 'automatically' seals the valve when you pull the pump, correct? If so, doesn't look like it'd be messing with it at all as the zip tie still sits above it.

None that I've noticed. I added them to all the valves on my Roo's as well which have ball valves. I no longer have to re-pump my struts now when I leave them inflated over night.
oh, I put the zip on once the tube was filled & stoppered, placing just enough pressure on the zip to stop the leaking.
