Sixth Annual Watershed Monitoring Event
Volunteer Training at Tualatin REI: Wednesday, September 6th 7-8PM
Watershed Testing at your nearby waterway: any day in the last two weeks of September
Watershed Testing with REI: September 18th at 6PM
You play on your local waterways and appreciate the unique diversity of their wildlife, now help assess the health of your watery treasures. Join REI and the Lower Columbia River Estuary Partnership to monitor the health of the Columbia River watershed, including streams as far south at Tualatin. During the last two weeks of September, hundreds of volunteer monitors in Washington and Oregon will assess the health of the Columbia watershed by testing their nearby tributaries. On September 6th, the estuary partnership will train you how to test your waterway and will teach you about the factors that affect stream health. This is a great learning opportunity for all ages. Once trained, you can test your local waterway on your own with estuary partnership testing kits. For more information, log onto www.lcrep.org or call Jennie Boyd at 503.226.1565 x222.
Also, you can join REI for a nearby site monitoring on September 18th at 6PM if you can not attend the training. |
