Hey does anyone have an estimate for how hard Rooster Rock was blowing on 9/2/06? I went out on an 8 meter torch around 11:00 am and wasn't able to handle the gusts and I'm trying to figure out the limit on my kite and riding ability.

30's for sure with constant punches a little higher. When you see swell like that on an easterly day its BIG wind.

Sessioned Rooster early that day and was done after about an hour. The swell was fun but you can only take that kind of a beating for so long. SO, I went and sessioned the camas spot for the early afternoon. After almost killing myself by falling down the rocks and slicing my foot on god knows what in the mud I had a killer 12m session. Definitely worth the drive, the fall and even the cut. Way more solid wind. Watch out for the rocks though...I noticed what looks like the remanents of an old jetty about 6 inches under the surface of the water just to the left of the mouth of that river. Scary shit if you eat it in the wrong spot...

Damn Rooster looks crazy! Might have to try getting out there sometime soon.

P.S. - Tucker, are you just using your Fuel's bar?

was it me or was there just an exorbitant amount of slong out at rooster on saturday. i thought sand up the butt crack might have deterred them but every time i came in towards oregon there was yet another fat ugly dude staring out at us...with all three eyes.

the winds were solid though and much easier than what was there on friday.

Adam - Yeah, that's the spot. With the water down the launch is about twice as big, about the size of the gay bar on a good day. I was lit for awhile on the 12 and was still able to find slicks of butta allover the place.

Yup Bamboo it was extra schlongie it seemed to us. One of us claimed to have seen a couple of taught 20ish femme but I missed it.
It was a great session. We (Jodi, Gene, Tucker, Ken, Tom et al) rode from Dalton Point to Rooster. Lit for sure and we hit some flat water spots along the way too. Talk about huge jumps. Corbett sensor showed gusts in the upper 30s.

It was hella windy around 12:00. I would say consistantly around 26-28 with lots of poopy gusts in the low 30's. Thank god for bow kites Smile

Looking forward to more days at Rooster. here's what the troutdale sensor said. That sensor is usually 4-5 knots lighter than rooster is actually blowing.

That’s nothing! You should have been there Friday morning.

I down winded (Dalton2R.R.) on 7m Roo with Armond (5m Diesel) in 30G45 conditions ~ 11 am.
My second lap in the afternoon (2pm) was more enjoyable as the wind backed off to 30G40.

NUTSO!

Me, I came out to watch to you throw down.. Where were you?

Armond had the best comment afterwards..

"I feel like I got away with something"

FYI Armond is the brain behind "Utama Tele Bindings" and one of a few (might have been the first, I can’t recall) to have telemarked the Emmons glacier on Rainier... T2B

Ummmm, ok?

Sounds like a plan, but only on one condition; you google the word sarcasm.

Confused
