I figured out how to rig up my $30 Rite Aid digital camcorder to my kite, and tomorrow I'm going to try it out. We'll see how it works.

These are sold as "single use" camcorders but my son tweaked it so that it can be used again and again with the images downloaded to the computer via USB cable. It'll hold about 17 minutes of video.

Cool stuff Steve!

The smoothest kite cam I've seen is hosted on KiteCinema.com. I'm not sure what exactly their setup is like, but it's super smooth, as apose to some that I see...

For 30 bucks, I'm not expecting too much from mine, but it'll be fun to see the perspective.

The wind hasn't been cooperating for the cam yet - yesterday it was nuking so I was using my little kite, and today it turned NE and wasn't filled in on the beach. But...if anything good comes out of it, I'll be sure to post.

High of 88 in Newport today! I'm melting!!!

Oh yes melting, 92 in Florence ,but fairly low humidity 20 %,
SHOCKING but I guess summer really is over with the fall easterlies already here ,luckily it turned back on-shore for the evening :
