I'm happy to send this update that Theo is progressing to breathing on his own up to 6 hrs, twice per day! He has a tracheotomy and recently sent a voice message with his Father's help saying, "All the best to you." Strength in his right arm is increasing, too!
Today marks 4 weeks since the injury. And 2 1/2 weeks of being back in Germany.
Please keep the positive vibes coming in. Yell messages into the wind to him like I do. He's a tough, strong young man with hopes to return here to the Gorge.

Go Theo!! Breathing all on his own, he's getting ready for intense rehab.
As you all may know, Theo Fusban, injured in HR on Aug 12th, has been back in Germany since Aug. 22nd and had a heck of a time transitioning from ICU to a rehab setting.
Now the hard physical work begins.

I get to visit Theo starting Oct 24th! If there is anything I can take to him for you I will! You can leave cards for him at 2nd Wind in c/o Levi.

I've been collecting fun things/ideas for him to do when he returns to the Gorge ie: Gorge flight tours, Big sailboat sailing, possible tandem paragliding (Bam Bam??) although I just learned why John's name is BamBam. Why am I always the last to know?

Theo get's all of you well wishes and hopefully will be accessing these internet sites on his own very soon, especially Facebook group "Theo Fusban get well wishes."

Go Theo. Starrrrrkkk! Dig Deep!

The Roeselers have been calling Theo on the weekends and he sounds terrific. He's letting us know what he is working on in PT. His arms are getting stronger slowly. He is getting dialed in with technology for email, phone use, etc. Murnau had a nice Indian summer and he gets to go hang around outside near the rehab! Now the snow is coming in Bavaria.

Some highlights for him lately have been his PKRA board signed by many pros which now sits next to his bed! Also Sky's 'Theo' board that he rode in Mauritius at KSP on a free ride day AND through a tube! check out the previous link above. The board now lives above this cafe/bar in Mauritius. "Theo is going global, ya?"
HUGE thanks to Sky for inspiring us all to hang onto hope and be strong. Also Kristin Boese for her support with the site www.indiegogo.com/help-for-Theo Let's go guys/gals! this is a raffle for a new board - plus help for Theo.

I am leaving on Sunday to go visit for 3 weeks and will possibly send pics. Keep your thoughts and prayers flowing. We appreciate all of you and the whole NW kite community!!!

I went to visit Theo a month ago and he is working very hard, learning to navigate the halls in a new power wheelchair, and keeping spirits up with lots of visitors. He has his two signed kiteboards in the corner near him always.
He mostly has use of his right arm only at this point. It doesn't stop him from checking facebook though! He'll probably be in rehab until Jan or Feb, then he hopes to finish school in Munich! We didn't get the chance to take Theo to Calif. which is still on his wish list I'm sure.

I hope to see them surfing together someday! I'd love to put a kite in Jesse's hands, too.
Anyone know Jesse?

Theo will probably kill me later for posting a picture. But he's just such a handsome kid don't you think? We are soooo proud of him for his strength, courage, and attitude. It's a long road ahead. Thank you for traveling it with him in spirit.

You should send him a message. I went to one of his events here and it was pretty inspiring seeing the joy on the participants faces. I think he does them multiple times a year all over the world.
