Manzanita wind registered an 8.0 on the Richter scale yesterday.
At 2:00 p.m. I was maxed-out on my 9 c and short lines. It was heavy combat/war kiting. Wondering what was happening up north at shipwreck downwinder? Any reports?

Wind came up earlier than saturday and by 1 was a solid 12m until past 6 but lighter at sunset. National guard was doing demo stuff on and off right in the middle of the "downwinder path" but that was a minor nuisanse only. No helicopter parts washing up on shore either...

I was near the shipwreck sat and sun. Both days on my 7m with 18m lines.
and a 5-11 surfboard. (I'm 155lbs) Saturday was light and nice and Sunday
was windier and nice. Seemed to me that the waves peaked right around
high tide.

Thanks to Jim and John from NewWind for letting me stay at the Summer
House on Saturday night. It looks like their Coast Camps are going well.
I could tell everyone was spent from a long day riding.

I was with the New Wind guys/ gals wave clinic. We did downwinders from Shipwreck to Sunset on Saturday. Lighter wind and smaller waves, but still fun. Sunday we did South Jetty to Sunset. Wind felt the strongest around shipwreck. Waves much better Sunday. I am new to wave riding and had a blast with these guys/ gals. Super cool bunch of people -and great to ride with. Tony has a primo local for his B & B (summer house) with nice rooms and good breakfasts - check em out. - C

Manzo was really fun on Sunday. Here are some pics. I was maxed on my 10m and after a while I switched to my poleskipper on a 4.4! It was windy. The swell was really fun and it felt really good to be back in the ocean.
