The difference 5 seconds can make…

5 seconds, the amount of time required to click & close thee bayonet style clips on my Octane bag….

No need I thought…

Hell, where’s my kite going to go, it’s already zipped up in the in it’s bag and I’m just crossing the channel

So I jump on Jason‘s jet ski & off we speed at rates in excess of 40mph.

His new 3 seater is DE LUX!

Any hoo, in the course of speeding around to the other side of the island, the zipper opened and out came the kite.

I unfortunately didn’t notice a thing until I got to the other side & took the bag off my back… with no kite.

I spent the next 30 minutes or so buzzing around searching for my beloved Octane….

Reality…. It sank and now sleeps with the fish.

What kind of difference could 5 seconds have made?

In a sport who’s “devil is in the details”, lets jus say a lot.

Jp

Ps, it’s navy, magenta & light blue

boy toss the haters a bone and look at them go!

as to a karma, read the rest of the story

So while walking off the JI ferry yesterday, I see the Marine Patrol police boat pulling up to the dock with out it’s menacing 50 cal mounted on the bow…
I thought to myself him, that’s odd I thought the terror color was still on the high side….

Then I hear “Is one of you John Penxa?”

Oh shit I think, what on earth do the cops want with me?!?

I set my board and bag down slowly, turned and stated,
I am, did you happen to find my kite and flash a sheepish smile.

THEY DID!!!!

They came across it yesterday afternoon up against the northern piling.

The kite’s leading edge was full of water however it otherwise was undamaged after it’s unsupervised 24 hr sojourn.

Happy DAYS!!!

BTW They mentioned they came across a board ~ 1 month ago.

IF YOU LOST YOUR BOARD at JI, SEND ME A PM & I’ll put you in touch with Marine Police.

Cheers,

JP

Ps IT’S WINDY!!!!

pss my name wasn't on the kite. it is now

So in essence, you were lying about your kite being lost at the bottom of the sea?

Idea Question

Lying??? Hell no!!!
I dumped ~2 gallons of water out of the LE last night!!!

I am frick'n amazed that is back… It must like me!!!

The kite was lost on Monday and returned 24 hours later.

My manger came and pulled me away from the computer as I was forwarding the posts from Seattle's forum.

As it's been suggested, Karma is a power thing...

The whole point of the story, which you apparently missed while salivating over my misfortune is that rushing in this sport is a bad thing regardless of ones level or skill!!

Rush while hooking up your lines as a practice.... see what happens eventually…..

Glad to hear you got it back! I would have been going fuckin' insane if I lost my kite, especially to an accident like that.

thats what happens when someone copies and pastes from another forum. lazy, and poor execution, but hardly conniving and deceitful.

Sooo an hour past between your initial post, you had time to post two more replies before you could undergo the time intensive task of copying and pasting and revealing that indeed your kite was not sleeping with the fishes.

I smell a drama queen. : Smile Smile Smile Just kidding JP, you know you rock!!
