Escaping the heat.... Coast?

So the city and gorge are supposed to melt this weekend. The coast thread mentioned 30knot winds but ikitefurf is predicting 15knots???

Any suggestions? Where is everyone heading?

NOAAs forecasts are much better than the computer generated dreck you get for forecasts from iKite.

Cold water, crazy wind forcasts, trolls, I think we all better stay at home and do yard work or the lawn won't survive this heat Thumb's Up

spotted over 70 kites on his stretch of sand last time the gorge turned off

OK, i'll just stay home, it sounds pretty yucky out there. But just for giggles, where would be the last place I would want to kite at?

sunset beach rd off hwy 101, go to the the beach and head north. ship wrecks and the jetty are up there if you can get past the national guard stuff. i just park near the entrance because i have a little 2 wheel drive. wind is better as you go north apparently. if you just want to go to jetty you can go into ft. stevens state park and park in one of the lots on the coast side. can't get onto the beach with the car from there though i don't think. if its hot in portland, you will see Many kites
