Hey Ian, I need some help with a picture over
here: http://www.nwkite.com/forums/t-1915.html

Nice sesh out at sufur, right? bummer about your
insert. Probably a good thing that pos board is
toast. You need a way bigger board anyway.

That fish photo looks fake. That's an easy old school
(pre-photoshop) photography trick. Those sturgeon
are some prehistorically scary looking fish. But I'd
take one of those over whitey anyday.

I remember the first time my son and I pulled up a 9 footer. It took nearly an hour. When it finally came up my son was looking over the side of the boat. It surfaced and my sons eyes got big and he couldnt back away fast enough Laughing It took quite abit of convincing to get him back wakeboarding after that!

Yeah that was Dylans board from last year, I keep breaking my boards so I was just riding that cause I didnt have anything else. Im going to get a new 133 today, hopefully this one lasts for more than 2 weeks. I helped you out with that pic. That could definately be photoshopped, its hard to tell since the pic is such bad quality. But I agree, rather that then something else that has white in its name and is about the same size. Thats all I can think about when im at the coast, they scare the shit outta me!

Tastes like chicken.

I've seen a 500lb one catching air (head high) while boarding at Dalton Point - may look like passive bottom feeders but beware these babies sky.

Beware!

"Kenneth City resident Dawn E. Poirier was smacked by a jumping sturgeon while boating on the Suwannee on April 22. She suffered a spinal fracture and facial injuries requiring plastic surgery.

Newberry Elementary School Principal Lacy Redd had a similar experience on Memorial Day weekend 2002. She was hit by a 6-foot-long, 125 pound sturgeon that caused her to suffer five broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

"It was a freak accident for sure," she said.

Scientists have different theories about why sturgeon jump. One suggests the fish are communicating"

I have caught many oversize sturgeon off Rooster Rock. Some of them will jump out of the water and do a tail walk. Very fun! The biggest one I have caught was about 10'. Hard to measure when they weigh 500-600 lbs. You get them upside down (they go very still upside down, like a shark) and pull them along the boat. You eyeball the length to measurements on the boat. They have NO teeth. You stick your arm in their mouths and pull out the hook. Some of them look like they could fit a basketball in their mouths. Ohh they also dont have any bones. Just cartilage for a back bone. Very prehistoric. Also very tasty!

ps They wont let you keep them unless they are 48" to 72". Once they get to 72" they are sexually active and ready to reproduce.

they are just gigantically huge catfish bottom feeders and would never try to eat a kiteboarder ( maybe just suck on your toes ).

Now those Muskies and Northern Pike are a different matter...............
